Caring for Arthritic Dogs, Using Nourish the Liver Decoction or Bu Gan Tang in Arthritic Dogs

TCM Traditional Chinese Medicine Herbs for Arthritis and Pain, Nourish the Liver Decoction or Bu Gan Tang

The TCM herbal formula Nourish the Liver (Bu Gan Tang) is also called Rehmannia and Peony Combination. Nourish the Liver is an ideal formula for Dachshunds and Rottweilers who have arthritis with muscle tightness, spasm, or spondylosis. It is ideal for arthritic dogs of any breed with spondylosis or Wobbler’s disease. Nourish the Liver is ideal for dogs with aching jaws due to masticatory myositis.

Many dogs with arthritis are also irritable or anxious. Nourish the Liver helps arthritic dogs who are also afraid of noise or thunder, who have separation anxiety or fear aggression. It helps dogs with territorial aggression.

In addition to helping dogs with arthritis, Nourish the Liver helps dogs with, petit mal seizures, dry eye, progressive retinal degeneration, bald patches (alopecia), itching (pruritus), or scaling skin (seborrhea).

When giving arthritic dogs a TCM formula, it is often possible to see beneficial changes in their blood, including normalization of elevated liver enzymes, and increased red blood cells in the anemic dog.

Safe source for Nourish the Liver or Bu Gan Tang Herbs

Although the ancient Chinese had wisdom to formulate excellent medicines, the modern Chinese do not provide these medicines in a guaranteed safe form. I do not recommend using any TCM formula that has not been through good manufacturing process (GMP) in the US or Canada. Please ask me for herbs that are safe for your pet.
