My days are pretty busy. I write the Happy Hinter column for the Pecan Bayou Gazette along with an online blog. I am probably testing a recipe or household tip. If I need inspiration I can head down to the Earl's Coffee or The Best Little Hairhouse in Texas and it's never long before someone pipes up with something.
How did you come to write your Happy Hinter column?
I grew up without a mother and so I started collecting the wit and wisdom I would find in the newspaper, magazines and people in our town. I kept it all in various notebooks over the years and although I could look up how to get rid of a troublesome stain, the notebook never replaced the mother I was missing.
What trouble do you get into in Buzzkill?
I'm getting married to my longtime boyfriend, Leo Fitzpatrick. We met on a ghost hunt a few years ago and once I determined he wasn't a homicidal maniac, we really hit it off. I do seem to have a problem staying out of trouble in Buzzkill. I published a recipe for homemade calamine lotion and then someone was attacked by bees right after using it. Now people think I'm responsible and my career as the Happy Hinter looks a little shaky.
Can you tell us all about Zack's sweet puppy?
That dog! Butch came to us in our last book Doggone Dead. Well, he came to us and then he ran away from us. He crawled under the fence of the estate of the old cowboy star Charlie Loper and vanished. I won't go into to details except to say we have him back now and he delivers wake up kisses every morning, whether I want them or not.
What do you like to do in your free time? (If you have any!)
You are right! I don't have a lot of free time. I love spending time with my Aunt Maggie and Cousin Danny. Danny works at various jobs through the disability program in town. He has trouble learning new things, but once he gets it he does well. Aunt Maggie's house is the place we go for birthdays, holidays and any time we just need a great bowl of chili and some time to talk.
Has your author shared with you any details of upcoming adventures?
She's not saying much other than I need to prepare myself for a possible loss. She keeps telling not to play with matches.

Synopsis
Betsy Livingston is planning a wedding so what could go wrong? After publishing a recipe for homemade calamine lotion in the newspaper, the ladies in the community church make a large batch. Everyone loves the stuff until someone in Pecan Bayou is found dead after using it. The town points to Betsy and she starts rethinking her whole career as a helpful hints columnist. Now she must clear her own name in between dress-fitting, cake-tasting, and all those things that turn a bride into a bridezilla. Is Betsy at fault or could there be something else that leads her down the aisle to murder?
About Teresa Trent
Teresa Trent lives in Texas and loves writing about small town life. She first got the idea to create Pecan Bayou after visiting the Texas Hill Country to view the millions of springtime flowers alongside the roads and highways. The town of Pecan Bayou does not exist in Texas, but there is a body of water in the state with the name. Pecan Bayou does exist in Teresa’s imagination and heart. Buzzkill is the fourth book in the Pecan Bayou series featuring all of the crazy characters who live in this cozy little town in Texas.
