Hey everybody, it's Tara!!! Today I'm so excited that I'm getting to interview Morty, the super cool kitty from Kari Lee Townsend's Fortune Teller Mystery series. Mommy asked me to let you know that thanks to the publisher, she has an extra copy of Trouble in the Tarot (which was just released today) to give to one lucky commenter! Say hi to Kari Lee and Morty, tell me how beautiful I am, just be sure to include your email address (US entries only).
Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with me today, Morty. How did you come to live with Sunny?
Actually Sunny came to live with me. The ancient Victorian house she bought and named Vicky belongs to me. I've lived there for centuries, scaring people away, but Sunny doesn't scare easily. She's different, like me, so I decided to let her stay.
What is your day typically like?
There is nothing typical about me or my days. Sunny manages to find trouble constantly, especially with running her fortune-teller business out of our home. She needs my help even if she doesn't know it. And don't even get me started on the mess Granny Gert finds herself in. A cat's work is never done ;)
Do you really have magical powers???
I'd tell you but then I'd have to kill you...literally. Just kidding, sort of. Seriously, though, no one knows for sure what I really am. It's part of my mysterious charm, and I'd like to keep it that way. I will tell you my fur is eerily white, my eyes are black as coal, and I move at lightning speed.
How do you feel about Granny Gert? (I have a grandma that dotes on me too!!!)
I'm not very friendly with most people, but there is just something so endearing about Granny Gert. She dresses me up in these ridiculous bow ties, but I allow it because it seems to make her happy. I admit I enjoy her company since Sunny is so busy with that annoying Detective Stone. Now there's a human I don't particularly like.
What kind of trouble do you and Sunny get into in Trouble in the Tarot?
Granny Gert is the one who gets into some serious trouble this time. I helped Sunny read tarot cares at the Summer Solstice Carnival, and that's where we met Fiona Atwater...Granny's arch nemesis. the trouble those two stir up is crazy. It's going to take a miracle to clean up their mess this time, I'm afraid.
Lastly, can you tell me a few of your favorite things:
Soft blanket on the couch or sunny window? Sunny window. I don't sleep, but I do enjoy comfort while I watch over my humans.
Neck scratches or tummy rubs? Neck scratches. I'm much too dignified for tummy rubs.
Wet food or dry? Wet food, but trust me when I say you don't want to know what I eat.
Catnip mouse or laser light? Laser light. I act like I am humoring my humans by playing along, but truth be told, I actually enjoy the silly game.
TROUBLE IN THE TAROT (book 3 of the Fortune Teller Mysteries – March 5, 2013)
For psychic Sunshine Meadows, sometimes fortunes can be deceiving…
Lately Sunny has been experiencing a period of big opportunity: her business in Divinity, New York, is thriving, and Detective Mitch Stone has finally agreed to take Sunny on a date. But thanks to her clairvoyant abilities, Sunny knows better than anyone that life deals out bad cards along with the good.
When Sunny agrees to read tarot cards at the annual summer Solstice Carnival, she meets her Granny Gert’s “arch nemesis” Fiona Atwater, and is overcome by a vision of Fiona in a violent argument. Sunny knows trouble is brewing when Granny and Fiona start having squabbles all over town. But the fighting comes to a head when a local baker gets run over by a big white Cadillac—and Granny and Fiona are found at the crime scene.
Sunny knows she should step aside and let Mitch handle the investigating, but she’s not about to ignore her visions and leave her granny’s life in fate’s hands…
