From the Review Pile #2

From the Review Pile is a meme hosted by Stepping Out of the Page every Thursday.

The aim of this meme is to showcase books that you've received for review (or if you don't receive review books, any book that you own and really want to read/review) but haven't yet got around to reading, in order to give the book some extra publicity.

This is a weekly meme I intend to feature more in 2013 since I have accepted soooo many books for review and just don't have the time to get through them all. Authors are so sweet to reach out to me that I want to give back by at least showcasing their literary creations and getting the word out to readers everywhere.

This week I'm featuring Right and Left Grand by Rosalee Richland, the first in her Darla King Square Dancing Mystery Series. This is such a fun and unique concept for a cozy series! My parents love reliving their square dancing days, so this is definitely a mystery that is of interest (and sentiment) to me.

Blurb: Right and Left Grand is a light detective novel set in current-day Texas, with a square dance caller as its reluctant heroine. Darla King returns to square dancing in mid-life following tragedies in both her personal and professional lives. In Right and Left Grand, she finds that her specialized knowledge of square dancing contributes to solving a federal case of confusion. It all starts with an attack on an unknown square dancer and then takes Darla through danger, romance, and personal growth. Together with dancers from her Clearton Squares Dance Club, Darla ends up in the thick of things. Between her new profession, her college-age daughter, and a prickly FBI agent she meets on the case, Darla's life just isn't turning out the way she planned.
